Rise Tech, by Pasifika Rise

Closing the digital gap. Health tech for those most in need.

We build technology that bridges the gap for the communities health too often leaves behind, starting with our own Pasifika aiga. Access to technology is the start. Digital literacy is what makes it real. We work on both.

Why we build

Technology should reach the people who need it most

For Pacific and other high-needs communities, the barrier is rarely just the clinic. It is whether the tools reach you at all, and whether they make sense when they do.

Access

Cost, devices and data get in the way of digital health. We design for everyday phones, light data use, and free where it matters.

Digital literacy

A tool only helps if you can use it. We write in plain language, keep steps few, and design so the first use is the easy one.

Equity by design

Built with a Pacific and Māori lens, grounded in NZ guidance, so the people most often left behind are the ones we build for first.

How we do it

Two ways we close the gap

App development

Patient and whānau apps across mental health, wellbeing, sleep, healthy habits, early childhood and medication support. Calm, plain-language, privacy-first, and free where it counts.

Practice management software

We are developing and shaping practice management software so clinics serving Pacific communities have systems that fit their workflow, their funding and their patients, not the other way around.

Governed and safe

Built by a clinician at the table on AI governance

Rise Tech was founded and is led by a practising New Zealand GP who contributes to AI governance within Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand. The same standards we ask of the system, we hold ourselves to: clinician sign-off before anything reaches a patient, clear intended-use limits, and privacy built in from the start.

Our apps

A growing family of health apps

Each one starts with a real gap in care and ships as one focused, free tool. iOS first, with more on the way.

Loto

Pasifika wellbeing. Plain-language CBT tools for low mood, anxiety, stress and sleep, with a Pacific frame.

Ola Mālōlō

Everyday wellbeing. Simple, encouraging steps toward a healthier life for the whole family.

Ora

Daily habits. Forgiveness-first streaks for movement, sleep and kai, made to support a Green Prescription.

Mōmoe

Sleep. Gentle wind-down and better rest. Mōmoe is the word for sleep.

Pip

Play and learn. Screen-light play ideas for 0 to 5 year olds using everyday household things, with te reo and Pacific kupu.

We Glow

Weight and metabolic health. Support for people on a weight journey, including those on newer treatments.

ADHD Check

ADHD screening. A validated self-screen with a GP summary you can share and a clear next step.

RxScan

Medication reminders. Scan a prescription label and get gentle, on-device reminders so no dose is missed.

More to come

This is a focus area we are actively building. New tools land as the gaps tell us where to go next.

Partnerships

Build this with us

This is an area we are committed to and will keep developing. If you fund digital equity, run a PHO or primary care network, or want to build tools that reach Pacific communities, we want to talk.

See the bigger picture: our case for support sets out the equity gap we are closing and how partners and funders can help us close it faster.
